Days 11, 12, & 13: Grand Canyon (Day 2), Four Corners, Route 66 Museum, and Return Trip

Monday, March 26, 2018

Well, the day of actually writing this post is Monday, May 29, 2023 and I’m just now discovering that I’d never finished this the blog posts from this trip back in 2018. History lost, I guess.

At this point, I can’t remember many of the details from these last two days. So I’ll let the pictures tell the stories for the most part.

I know that on Monday, March 26, we returned to the Grand Canyon in the morning to do a quick hike not far from the Visitor Center before starting to head home.

From there we headed back east to stop at the Four Corners Monument near Teec Nos Pos AZ, where Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico all meet. The monument was very much out the middle of nowhere and not very impressive. But it was cool to have said we’d been there.

From there, it was time to start our return trip home. We stopped for the night at the LaQuinta Inn in Farmington, New Mexico.

Off we go, headed home. We actually got a little snow this day.

Sort of as a last-minute addition to the trip, and since it was on the route home, we stopped at the Route 66 Auto Museum in Santa Rosa NM. Seth is a bit of a car buff and we decided to surprise him. We all had a great time here! Lots of cool old cars!

We then headed for our stop for the night at the Route 66 Best Western in Springfield, Missouri.

Not much to report this day, other than a non-eventful, approximately 7-hour drive back to our home. There weren’t even any pictures taken this day if that tells you anything.

Good to be home!
