Yep. Basically ditto what I said in December 2014 about good intentions. Now, after about a 4 1/2 year hiatus from then, I’m giving it another shot. Since then:
- 2016 was a busy year! In June, we brought home Vivian from China! She has been such a joy and wonderful addition to our family.
- Just before our China trip, I left my job at Ophir to work for Praxair which I started the first week of July. In January of 2019 I got an offer to come back to Ophir in a new role which is where I am now. The absence of overnight travel with Praxair was welcomed. But ultimately I wasn’t a good fit for the position.
- Sonya has been very very busy with babysitting several different children and with everything that goes along with being a homemaker. She has also been very busy with child adoption advocacy.
- Zach is a senior at Greenwood HS and has been accepted to Purdue University into the Engineering program, aspiring to be an Industrial Engineer. He ran Cross Country and Track his junior and senior years and is doing quite well.
- Eli is also doing well at Greenwood as a sophomore. Long-term plans are still up in the air, but he’s got time. He’s considering the military as a career path. He too has been running Cross Country and Track and is doing very well.
- Savannah is in 7th grade at Greenwood Middle. She’s playing the bass clarinet for her 2nd year (and has plans to be in the marching band in high school YAY!). She is also playing tennis and has been described by her coach as their most improved player. She starts her games next week.
- Seth is in 6th grade at Greenwood Middle. He’s playing the trumpet and also plans on marching band (at the moment). He played tennis last spring and really liked it! He’s planning on playing again this spring.
- Vivian is in kindergarten at Westwood Elementary. She is advancing quite well academically, but still has some challenges mostly due to her Williams Syndrome and her vision impairment. She has been partially included into her kindergarten class with a possibility of full inclusion. We’ll have to see how it goes this year. But she loves school. She loves life. And she brings so much joy to our family!
